I am new to open study I was wondering if anyone can help me with College Prep Pre-Calulus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question is use the graph of the function f, plotted with a solid line, to sketch the graph of the given function g. and I kind of don't understand it. g(x) = |x+5|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok So what do you know about the lesson do you have notes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really don't know to much about it, I studied it for hours and just can't get it, I also look online for examples to see how to see how to do this problem. But haven't had any luck.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on let me get the book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much for your help.

For example,y = f(-5) In this case, x = -5. So look in graph the value if y, where x = -5. The straight vertical line x = -5, where it crosses the curve. At that point look the value of y. You can use a scale if you want. The value of y should be 0 for this problem. Tricky part is for some curves, the straight vertical line might cross the curve at more than one places :) So just find the value of y at all those points. Similar for other one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But how would you find the value of Y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y is the Y-axis on a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The one going down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So all you have to fo is graph your points
