Simplify 2x + 10/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplify: \[\frac{ 2x + 10 }{ 2 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so you can break it up \[\frac{2x+10}{2}= \frac{2x}{2}+ \frac{10}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So divide them and then add them or add them and then divide?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2/2)x + (10/2) 2/2 = 1 1x + 10/2 1x is just x. 10/2 is 5 x + 5
