Factor: x2 + 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

over the reals? or can you use complex imaginary numbers?

hartnn (hartnn):

it cannot be factored over reals, if this Q belong to imaginary/complex , then it can be.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if they haven't been introduced to imaginary numbers yet, they might just have to answer that is can't be (we had to say it was already prime)

OpenStudy (hexagon001):

good point @Ajk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah. i have no idea what imaginary numbers is. So i guess the answer would be prime. Thankyou :)
