I am currently working on a unit review for Algebra 1, and I'm slightly confused on this first question. I have to tell whether y varies directly with x. If it does, I have to write an equation for the direct variation. it's a table and it pretty much looks like this: x|y -6|9 1|-1.5 8|-12 I'm a little confused about what I'm supposed to do, can anyone help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to solve for m and c using the table given to you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much!

So do I have this right? 9 = 1(-6) + 3, would that be right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

opps I meant -1, because you have to multiply two negative in order to get a positive.

@Kanwar245 so would it be that way for all of them?
