I have the answers from an online calculator, I just need to know what standard form is and how to tell if something's in it. Explain whether the polynomials below are written in standard form. If not, use complete sentences to explain how to write the polynomial in standard form. 1. 3a^3b-4ab^2+a^2 2. -8x^2y^2+10xy^4-6x^2y

"standard" is a little trickier with more than one variable. Generally, there are only two requirements. 1) Descending exponents (or descending "order" if that is confusing) 2) Positive leading coefficient.
