You roll two dice. What is the probability of rolling a 1 or a 6 on the second die, given that you rolled an odd number on the first die?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am pretty sure 2 die are independent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking 1/3 ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or maybe 2/36 since there are 36 possibilities but I'm only looking for two

OpenStudy (rc94):

As Modphysnoob said the two events (first and second roll) are independent of one another, so it doesn't matter what is rolled in the first, the probability is still 1/3

Than :)
