Before performing the experiment she weighed out the salt in a plastic weighing boat. The weighing boat and salt weighed 75 grams. It's just subtraction? How can I explain subtraction? I guess you can imagine it as 75.00 - 1.42 and "forget" the decimal point, do 7500 - 142 = 7358 then put it back in so it's 73.58
