OpenStudy (anonymous):

A rock is thrown horizontally from a tower at a speed of 10 m/s and it lands 20.0 m from the tower's base. a) How high is the tower? b) What is the final velocity of the rock

OpenStudy (badhi):

you can apply $$\rightarrow S=ut$$ to find the time that it takes to hit the ground. Then use, $$\downarrow S=ut+\frac 12 at^2$$ to find the height of the tower. since you know the time of the travel and since the initial vertical velocity = 0, use,$$\downarrow v=u+at$$ to find the final velocity
