Help me I am not really good at geometry and I am still trying to learn it and have more questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rick constructed the geometric figure shown below. Part A: Write a statement describing the distance between Line M and Line L at different points on the lines. Part B: Using complete sentences, justify your answer for Part A

Like I said before I am not looking for the answers just want to know were to start :)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do you see the angles that are marked congruent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think ? congruent means equal right

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Yes. Congruent means equal in measure.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Those angles have a special name. What is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm supplementary ?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

No. some names of special angles are: vertical, alternate interior, corresponding, alternate exterior. Do any of those sound familiar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some of them do! :)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So now can you identify what kind of angles are marked congruent in your picture? What are they called?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I believe we have identified at least part of the reason you are having trouble in geometry. You MUST learn the language of geometry. That means you have to know what the words mean.

Ok :(
