Work being done in this system...

OpenStudy (oneowone):

In the following system there are two magnets: |dw:1364236317966:dw| When they are attracted to point X: |dw:1364236350241:dw| We agree that there was work done. W = Fd The work is based on the force of attraction from the two magnets from point 0 to point X. Lets say the force was a total of 60N(30N x 2 from each magnet's pole strength). The distance from point 0 to X was 0.1m The total work done in this system is 6 Joules? Is this accurate? In point 0 the magnet's had a higher potential energy than point X. And PE was converted to Kinetic energy during that attraction? Can this be a right way to measure the amount of energy used in this system?
