compared with the walls of arteries, the walls of the veins

OpenStudy (carniel):

Hi and Welcome to Openstudy :) Plz read the Code of Conduct before you continue. Also, plz make this in a form of a question. Can't understand what your asking xD

OpenStudy (aaronq):

they are much thinner because they're not under such high pressures

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

Walls of veins have valves internally.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Compared to arteries, the walls of veins are much thinner because they do not carry the blood to the heart and therefore are not under high pressures.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

"because they do not carry the blood to the heart" they DO carry blood to the heart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Blood in the arteries is under high pressure generated by the heart, but this is not true for veins; that's what I meant.
