How did factory work differ from the farm work that children routinely did prior to the Industrial Revolution and the beginning of factories? Farm work was less repetitive, generally outdoors and/or under healthier conditions. Farm work generally paid better than factory work. Farm work was physically less demanding. Farm work was more boring, repetitive and required less education than factory work.
