OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a+1)^2=25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of \((a+1)^2=25\) then \(a+1=5\) or \(a+1=-5\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 1 from both sides to find \(a\)

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

\[(a+1)^{2}=25=a ^{2}+2a+1\rightarrow a=\frac{ \sqrt{2^{2}-4(1)(1)} }{ 2(1) }=0\] @satellite73 what is wrong with my answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so very much!!!!

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

Just saw my error the actual equation has a -2 at the front, satellite is absolutely right
