Find the area of each side of the prism and add all of these areas together.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
How do I do that?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Since all of the sides are rectangles you can multiply their length by height and add them together. For example:
\[49*32 + 49*32 + 41*32 + 41*32 + 41*49 + 41*49\] this can of course be simplified to \[2(49*32) + 2(41*32) + 2(41*49)\] which you might notice is the equation for surface area\[2lw+2wh+2lh\]

Then what?

You just solve it...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
By adding it all together that gives me the answer?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2(49∗32)+2(41∗32)+2(41∗49) That will give you the answer
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay thanks!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
No problem :)

so it's 9,778?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes, that is what I got
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay so how do I find the volume now?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Just multiply the length by the width by the height
