Can you visualise what they are asking you for? It is basically saying that for this graph|dw:1364244576202:dw| According to that graph, the distance between the origin and the point would be given by the equation\[d(t)=\sqrt{x^2+(x^2+1)^2}\] Would you know how to work from there? You would be able to differentiate that equation with respect to time and substitute dx/dt = 2.
