What is the value of the y variable in the solution to the following system of equations? 5x + 4y = 1 4x + 3y = -1

multiply the top equation by 4 and the bottom equation by -5 to get the top equation's x value to be 20 and the bottom equations x value to be -20. add vertically and you are left with just the y variable. solve for the y variable.
