Math help !
Eli has 7 black pens and 5 blue pens in his desk drawer. He also has 3 yellow highlighters, 2 green highlighters, and 5 pink highlighters in his pencil case. If he chooses one pen and one highlighter without looking, what is the probability that he will get a black pen and he will not get a green highlighter?
7/22 and 20/22
whats the percentage?
@terenzreignz
multiply 7/22 and 20/22, then times 100%
so do 7/22*20/22 = then times 100% ?
you should get 2 precentages 7/22 *100 and 20/22*100
times 100% cause it 7/22*20/22 will give you a decimal number, and since you want your answer in percentage, so you need to times 100%. Note % =1/100, so by multiply 100%, you are basically multiply 1
he did it a diffrent way but same result
7/22*100 i got 31.818 20/22*100 i got 90.9090
now what ?
what are the possible answers is it multiple choice?
46.7% 11.7% 33.3.% 8.3%
I think it should be 7/12 (the chance of black pen) multiply by 8/10 (the chance not to pick green highlighter)
Finally, @ghostfire ^.^
so what is my answer after doing all the solving
so what do you get for 7/12 times 8/10?
7/15
46%
46.66666%, 46.7% when you round it up.
