im sorry but i cant help you with this

@Koikkara

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a system to represent a point in space. how can we achieve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. divide the 2D space into small identical squares from a reference point (Cartesian) 2. divide the space into concentric circles about a reference (Polar)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but then the squares would need directions. so, lets look at the compass (E, W, N, S)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you observe? East and West are the same thing but opposite and similarly, North and south. Like yin and yang.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kapeesh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, they said, EW direction can be said as one unit.. with positive and negative parts and same goes for the NS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, any point in the 2D space can now be represented by saying, go "X" steps to right or left and "Y" steps north or south then you have the seeds for the concepts of vectors.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can find a good information from Eulers' original works available from Project Gutenberg

plz have a look at.... http://math.tutorvista.com/geometry/cartesian-plane.html
