A-sexual reproduction would be most beneficial. When a species reproduces sexually, there is only male and female. If a predator kills off all of the species BUT ONE, that last organism will not be able to reproduce, and therefore go extinct. In opposition, a-sexually reproducing organisms can create more offspring without the aid of another organism.

For sexual reproduction you need 2 genders of a species and for asexual reproduction only 1. So these organisms are much more independent.
