OpenStudy (aravindg):

whats your question ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Using a sixteen-sided number cube, what is the probability that you will roll an even number or an odd prime number? The number 1 isn't an odd prime. Round to three decimals.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many numbers does the cube have in total?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you sure a 16 sided die is only going to have 6 numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait no lol @amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lets assume it has 16 numbers :) how many are going to be even? how many are prime? excluding 1 and 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

add up the number of evens, and the number of primes, and divide by 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what i did earlier before i posted this question and didnt get any of my answer is my answer practice choice.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, what answer did you come up with? you might simply be miscounting

OpenStudy (amistre64):

assuming we start at 1 and go to 16, that would be 8 evens primes are then 3,5,7,11,13 ... or 5 of them so 13/16 is what i get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.8125 Ohhh okay i see what you did . Thank you sooo much

OpenStudy (amistre64):

your welcome ... alll i did was follow the instructions :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah can you help me with a few more? Please ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

dunno, im on another post as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill just post it and tag you in it.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

k

imqwerty (imqwerty):

3,5,7,11,13,17,19 = 7 numbers. 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20=10 numbers. 17/20 chance =0.85
