Find an equation of the tangent line to the curve at the point (0,2) y=2e^x(cos(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know the technique of using the first derivative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the y value, plug x into function. get some point (x,y). Then take the derivative, which will be the slope of the tangent line. is that the technique?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes almost, i was thinking of first taking dy/dx at some point which yields the slope of the tangent line at that point. Then use the point to find the final equation.

So just about the same thing you said, haha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyway what did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wow i just figured out my problem, thank you I got y-2=2(x-0)
