so you know that fraction line separating the numerator and denominator is basically a division sign right? what 4x divided by 4 and what's 8 divided by 4

so 4x/4 is just x right because 4 dived by 4 is just 1 so it cancels out. THe 8/4 is just 2 so it's x+2
