Determine if the following is a power series. A) x-x^2+x^4-x^8+x^11-... B) x^5+x+2 C) (8/x)+(8/x^2)+(8/x^3)+(8/x^4)+...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C is power series

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain how can you tell if is a power serious or not? please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C is not a power series... the powers of \(x\) are in the denominator. Both A and B are power series, though only A is an infinite power series. The general form of a power series for constants \(a_0, a_1, a_2, \ldots \) is \(a_0 + a_1 x + a_2 x^2 + a_3 x^3 + \cdots\).

thanks

can you explain how B is a power series?
