How would I find out what would be the chemical equation for superglue binding together clay and aluminum? I don't know if an equation can even be written for it. The superglue formula is C5H5NO2 and clay is Al2O3.siO3.2H20.

I believe you would just be using the properties of the glue changing phases from liquid to solid. I don't think a chemical reaction is taking places between the aluminum or clay w/ the glue.

i dont think so any chemical reaction taking place between glue and the alumina !!

zbay, do you know how I would do that? Could I just write: C5H5NO2(l) --> C5H5NO2(S)

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

just some weak bond may arise between the two
