Solve for y: 2x+my=-2x+ny

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put everything with a \(y\) on it on one side of the equal sign. you can do this by subtracting \(n\) from both sides to get \[2x+my-ny=-2x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you want everything else on the other side, subtract \(2x\) from both sides to get \[my-ny=-4x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor the \(y\) out on the left hand side and get \[(m-n)y--4x\] then divide both sides by \(m-n\)

oh wow thank you so much it seems to be so much more clear when explained in a step to step format ! Thank you
