Lonnie lives in New Mexico and pays 5% in sales tax. He just bought $80 in groceries, but not $30 worth of those groceries were taxable. What is the total amount that lonnie paid for groceries, including sales tax. A.$84.00 B.$82.50 C.$80.25 D.$80.40

umm...i'm not sure if I understood that correctly....but what I'm getting....is that only $30 of the groceries were taxable so what is 30 * .05? 1.5 so he paid an additional 1.5 to his 80....so since that is not an option I believe that is invorrect...so lets try the fact that $50 of the groceries were taxable. 50 * .05 = 2.5 that added to the $80 he spent would be 82.50 so I believe THAT would be the answer
