umm...i'm not sure if I understood that correctly....but what I'm getting....is that only $30 of the groceries were taxable

so what is 30 * .05? 1.5

so he paid an additional 1.5 to his 80....so since that is not an option I believe that is invorrect...so lets try the fact that $50 of the groceries were taxable.

50 * .05 = 2.5

that added to the $80 he spent would be 82.50

so I believe THAT would be the answer
