(F=9/5C+32)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and? :)

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

and freeze to death

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

its the formula to convert degrees Celsius to Fahrenheit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is 59 but what are the steps to get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you solving for, child?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

the person wants to know what value would it be for both the Celsius and Fahrenheit be the same

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so is F = 59 or C = 59...?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

oops maybe not

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

my guess it is 59℃ to ℉

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In June the average temperature in van cover is 15 degrees Celsius (c).what is this temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (F) to the nearest degrees (F=9/5C+32)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is 59 but I need to know the steps of the problem on how to get 59...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug in 15 for C and solve for F, easy :) \[F={9\over5}C+32\]\[F={9\over5}(\color{blue}{15})+32\]\[F={135\over5}+32\]\[F=27+32\]\[F=59\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well \[F = \frac{9 \times 15}{5} + 32\] F = 27 + 32 so your answer seems correct

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

another formula for Fahrenheit to Celsius is to use 1.8 instead of 9 ÷ 5 \[℉=(℃ \times 1.8) + 32\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which will give you the same answer :) the steps are just those of when you plug in 15 for C and solve through, nothing hard :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks I'm studing for my high school qualifying exam for my diploma because somehow Alaska needs it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, good luck!
