Can you pick two points on this graph that are easy to read and write down their coordinates?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(0, 1) ?
OpenStudy (mathstudent55):
Good. That's one point. Can you choose another one?
OpenStudy (tanner23456):
First find the slope of the line given
m = slope = rise/ run
pick two obvious points on the graph and find the slope between them.
(0,1) and (-3,5) seems to be the easiest
the slope between these two is -4/3
for a perpendicular slope you just flip the slope and change the sign
opposite reciprocal

So 3/4 ?
OpenStudy (tanner23456):
you got it
OpenStudy (mathstudent55):
Did you understand how the slope was calculated?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes, thank you!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Can you help with one more?

First check that every graph contains the point (-4, 2)
OpenStudy (tanner23456):
the easiest way to solve this one is to plot the first point and navigate the second one with the slope
so (-4,2)
