A right triangle has hypotenuse of length c and two legs of lengths a and b, but these lengths are changing, in such a way that the triangle is still a right triangle as the side lengths change. The length of the hypotenuse is increasing at a rate of 2cm/sec, and the length a is increasing at a rate of 4cm/sec. Is the length b increasing or decreasing? a) The length b is increasing. b) The length b stays the same. c) The length b is increasing if c is greater than 2a and b is decreasing if c is less than 2a. d) The length b is decreasing.
