HELP PLEASE ASAP Analogy or Real-World Relationship Either create a unique analogy for this relationship or explore the real-world version of one of your figures. For Square vs Kite

@Mertsj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Chlorophyll

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I have no idea what that means.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part 1: Pick a relationship to explore. Choose one of the following pairs of figures to discuss the relationship between them. Square vs. Trapezoid Square vs. Kite Parallelogram vs. Rectangle Parallelogram vs. Rhombus Part 2: Provide a graphic organizer. Provide a tree, Venn diagram, T-Chart, or matrix to show the relationship between the two figures. Part 3: Written Explanation Compare and contrast the two figures using complete sentences. Part 4: Analogy or Real-World Relationship Either create a unique analogy for this relationship or explore the real-world version of one of your figures.thats the whole thing

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So you have chosen square and kite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The only relationship I can think of is that they are both quadrilaterals.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What can you think of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all im stuck on is part 4

OpenStudy (mertsj):

what is an analogy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A comparison between two things

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Well then, compare the two. They both have 4 sides but a square has 4 right angles and a kite doesn't. In a square the diagonals are congruent. Not so in a kite. I don't know...it a gobblety gook question as far as I am concerned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you lets see if @jim_thompson5910 can help us

OpenStudy (mertsj):

And what in the world is the "REAL WORLD VERSION" of a square? Different from the fairy land version?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Over to you @jim_thompson5910

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i dont know im confused with that part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 u there?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well both are quadrilaterals, but they don't have much else in common except for the fact that a) they both have 4 sides b) their diagonals are perpendicular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that would be a analog?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so you could say that the relationship between a square and a kite is like the relationship between a dog and a snake a) both are animals b) both breathe oxygen hmm, not sure if this is a good analogy since a dog and a snake probably have a lot more in common

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well that help me understand more thank you

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
