OpenStudy (aripotta):

wouldn't it be (p^2 + 4)(p^2 - 4)?? but it's not a choice?? and i'm really confused

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

p^2-4 can be further broken down into (p+2)(p-2)

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so it's d?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Yup.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

but couldn't (p^2 + 4) be broken down too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[p ^{4}-16 = (p ^{2})^{2}-((2)^{2})^{2}=(p ^{2}+2^{2})*(p ^{2}-2^{2})=(p ^{2}+2^{2})*(p+2)*(p-2)\]

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Only x^2-y^2 is broken into (x-y)(x+y), not (x^2 + y^2).

OpenStudy (aripotta):

oh..

OpenStudy (aripotta):

thanks :]

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

You're welcome. :)
