A ball id thrown horizontally at 21 m/s from a clifftop 60m above sea level. (secondary 5 physics) Find: a)the time to land b)the angle at which it hits the water c)the speed at which it hits the water

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did you come up with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use\[y - y _{0} = v _{0y} + 1/2 g t ^{2}\] for part a.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[v _{0}t = 0\] because it is in the y direction. g = 9.8 m/s2 and y - y0 = 60m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use \[v = v _{0} + g t\] for the speed at which it hits the water? This is only considering the downward motion so v0 = 0 m/s
