3x2y2 - 75
OpenStudy (anonymous):
any idea?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
This is what I did, I'm not sure if I did it right though...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Use the equation box please :P
OpenStudy (anonymous):
= 3(x^2y^2 – 25)
= 3(xy+5) (xy– 5)

1. 3x2y2 - 75
= 3(X²Y² – 25)
= 3(XY + 5) (XY – 5)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
same so correct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I also had to do... 2x3 + 54
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[3x ^{2}y ^{2}-75 = 3(x ^{2}y ^{2}-25) = 3[(xy + 5)*(xy - 5)]\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
kk how did you do?

= 2(x^2 + 27)
= 2(x + 3)(x² – 3x + 9) ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2. 2x3 + 54
= 2(X² + 27)
= 2(X + 3)(X² – 3X + 9)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
:)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
more?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3 more, can you check them for me?

ofc go ahead i am here for that
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3 rs - 2r - 3s + 2
= r (3s - 2) - 1 (3s – 2)
= (r - 1) (3s – 2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3rs - 2r - 3s + 2
= r(3s - 2) - 1(3s – 2)
= (r - 1)(3s – 2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
last two?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Well, I actually didn't do this one because I got stuck /:

2x2 – 20x + 40
OpenStudy (anonymous):
give me
OpenStudy (anonymous):
can you try? i can wait
OpenStudy (anonymous):
or you want me to show you?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Can you show it to me because I feel like I don't even know where to start lol

Divide everything by 2,
You have
x^2 - 10x + 20
Use quadratic formula now.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Check again, it's -10x.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yea true
2x2 – 20x + 40
= 2(x² – 10x + 20) -------- If you are in higher Std. further factors
= 2(x² – 10x + 20 + 5 – 5)
= 2[(x² – 10x + 25 – 5)]
= 2[(x – 5)² – (√5)²]
= 2[(x – 5 + √5][(x – 5 – √5]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thank you dharmaputra he is rigth!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
annetta this is the answer

Using quadratic formula, the roots would be, -2765 and - 7.235
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok, my last one... 21x2 + 31x + 4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-2.765*
OpenStudy (anonymous):
21x2 + 31x + 4
= 21x² + 28x + 3x + 4
= 7x(3x + 4) + 1(3x + 4)
= (7x + 1)(3x + 4)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So the roots would be -1/7 and -4/3 ;)
