this isn't the math section, so you may not get the best responses
a better section would be history or social sciences
However my best guess (and from what I remember) is that Martin Luther King Jr preached peace and non-violence while Malcolm X didn't see peace as the way to get things done. Malcolm X saw violence as a useful and needed tool to bring about change.
