a 20ft cantilever beam is shown in the figure below. A__10ft__B__10ft__C Load w1 = 200lb, w2 = 500lb, or both may be appled at the mid point B or at the end of the beam C. The bending moment incuded at the fixed support A(mA), will depend on the maginutes of the loads at B and C. Determine the sample space of A?

Sample space A has means here bending moments at A which contains 3 possibilities; 1. when only w1 is applied at B 2.when only w2 is applied at c 3. When both loads are applied.
So now 1 when only w1 is there bending moment = (w1)*l=200*10=2000lb-ft 2. when only w2 is there bending moment = (w2)*l=500*20=10000lb-ft 3. when both then b.m. = 2000 + 10000 = 12000 lb-ft so S={ 2000, 10000, 12000}
