TRUE or FALSE! The notation arcsin x represents the inverse function to sine. ***My answer: TRUE! is that right??

hartnn (hartnn):

correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay! Thanks :)

hartnn (hartnn):

you can continue asking here,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay!! here's another true or false :)|dw:1364770349409:dw|

hartnn (hartnn):

why you say false ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz there's an infinite number of angles right?? but not values right? cuz sin^-1 is has the limited range of -pi/2 to pi/2 right?? am i getting that right? :)

hartnn (hartnn):

not actually, arcsin does not have limited range unless specified specially. the value of that expression is an angle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh :( darn.. so does that make this sentence TRUE then?

hartnn (hartnn):

i looked up wiki, seems i was incorrect :P the ranges are restricted in order to have inverse functions. you were correct.

hartnn (hartnn):

sorry, its false only.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome!! so it is FALSE then? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool!! :) hehe one sec while i post the next one!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The attached graph depicts which inverse trigonometric function? A. y=Arcsin x B. y=Arccos x C. y=Arctan x D. y=Arcsec x **my answer: B. y=Arccos x not too sure tho... is that right?? am i remembering the graphs correctly? ;/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u think @hartnn ? :)

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, its arccos x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woooo!! :) yayy!! lemme put the next one up!! it's a another true or false... one sec!!
