A store wants to discount(or markdown) an item by 25% for a sale. If the original price of the item was $45,find the sale price.

OpenStudy (qqstory):

Let's say you wanted to sell an item for cheaper price, 45 dollars would be the original price of the item. So with the discount price, it would be less than 45. So x = item 45 < X. Now let's find the discounted price.. 45 times 0.25 = 11.25 , so then 45- 11.25 = 33.75 dollars would be the sale price.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$11.25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

discount means that you want to decrease the price of the good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you're initial price is 45 dollars.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want to decrease the price by (1/4)(45)

OpenStudy (jim766):

45 - .25*45= sale price
