In Turkey, are you able to make up new rituals or do you have to just follow the old ones?

OpenStudy (96mertcank96):

you have to follow the old ones if your family has not accepted the modern age. I am Turkish myself and my family and I we do not follow old ritual such as " the woman can not participate in a conversation when a guest comes they can only serve to the guest" my mother has a nice relaxing time with her guests as well you can not make up new rituals but you can follow rituals that are modern that the whole world is also using like in Turkey there is a idea that even if you are 38, not married and living off your parents you were considered a kind person but as the decades went by and new ideas began spouting up like in america where if you are 38 and not married living off your parents you are considered a person that has problems so Turkish families adopted that idea so their sons/daughters can get married and not depend on their parents. Then the Turkish society thought too there was something wrong with these people. So what i am trying to say is you cannot make up your own rituals but you can follow other rituals and no you do not have to follow old rituals.
