Can anyone tell me if I'm correct? Please Which of the following correctly summarizes the main issue with most genetically engineered food crops? I'm thinking that the answer might be "A", but i'm not too sure. Resulting crops have to be continually monitored and re-engineered Creating a market for the resulting crops has proven difficult Increasing one quality in a food crop may degrade other qualities Resulting crops are too expensive because of the engineering
I would say that you are absolutely correct. If the crops are not monitored or engineered correctly, this can actually result in health problems for the consumer. This is most specifically true in the case of "Crop Uniformity". This reduces gentic diversity in the organism, making them more vulnerable to pests and disease. With the rise of pests and disease comes a rise in pesticides. With a rise in pesticides, comes a high risk of catching an illness when the crop is consumed.
Thanks so much for helping me out.
