Confirm that f and g are inverses by showing that f(g(x)) = x and g(f(x)) = x. f(x)=2/x; g(x)=2/x i dont understand what the question is asking for please help

OpenStudy (mertsj):

1.Find the f(g(x)). The result should be x 2. Find the g(f(x)). The result should be x 3. If both results that shows that the two functions are inverse functions because that is the definition of inverse functions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so i would solve for both and get x as a final answer because the 2s would cancel out right?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

No. The x's would not cancel. You just get an answer of x for both of them. Did you find f(g(x))?
