Airway irritation due to particles in smoke. Heart rate, blood pressure and gastrointestinal motility increased due to nicotine. Airway irritation can lead to bronchiolar inflammation and infections can occur in future. GI motility increase enhances the digestion of food causing increased satiety and decreased appetite. Heart related changes can cause myocardial infarction because of increased load on the heart muscles.
