OpenStudy (aripotta):

ok wait, how about this one?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

@yrelhan4

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

How did you find the solutions?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

graphed it

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Yeah your answer seems to be right. Is the graphing tool available to you in exams?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

idk...but i do it anyway lol .-.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Oh right. I am thinking of a way that doesnt need graphing. Get back to you if if i get anything. I have to break this equation somehow. hmm.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

how do you do it without graphing?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Break this equation into two quadratics and solve them.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Ok so this is just hit and trial. But you can break this into (x^2-3x-2)(x^2-3x-1) > 0. They should give you the same answer.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

It does give the right answer. A little complicated though.
