Am I solving this problem right? (Image is below) This is what I did to solve it: 3.14 x 27 = 84.78 (I multiplied the height by Pi) 17 x 17 = 289 (I squared the radius; multiplied it by itself) 84.78 x 289 = 24501.42 (I added both my products together to get my correct? answer) Thanks for any help.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is the goal to accomplish with the numbers given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my apologies; I have to calculate the volume.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

adding the products doesnt seem appropriate; volume of a cylindar has no adding in it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

V = pi r^2 h you did, pi h, and r^2 but you shouldnt add them together

OpenStudy (amistre64):

84.78 x 289 is correct, so long as your products are good. but that mutliplication, not addition .... unless you wanna do alot of additions, 289 of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well definitely not, haha.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So using the formula you gave me... would the answer be: 24501.42? I am really not good at math, aha.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yes, that looks fine by my calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just realized I got the same answer, but without adding them together in the end.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, thanks. Your assistance was greatly appreciated. :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck :)
