Y^2+10y+24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you have to do with this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to start off by factorising. Require two numbers that add to 10 and multiply 24 i.e : x+y = 10 x*y = 24 Two such numbers are 6 and 4. Now factorise: (y+6) (y+4) = 0 this equation can only be satisfied if either y+6 =0 or y+4 = 0 this means that y = -6 or y= -4 your solutions are y=-6 or y= -4

Okay thank you
