Generally, however, using more specific / complex vocabulary and being impersonal (ie don't use persona pronounce, 'I' or 'You' etc) will help.

simple writing is best. be clear and concise. do not over-explain. people have too much too read and appreciate someone who gets to the point. don't write to impress, write for clarity.  what kind of business writing do you mean? memos? reports? more specifics would help.
