Can someone proofread this Nature is the natural world, the physical world, the material world the spirtitual world. The wilderness can refers to spiritual renewal area or an area where one would participate in recreational activities. Forests especially are an excellent site for hiking which captures the mind frame of moble zen mode. There are many benefits of nature both stated by Byrson and Stegner.

Bryson emphasized little on how nature was a spiritual haven and a perfect area to be in. His passage includes the hardships of the natural area. But with everything negative he showed the silver lining. For example, the snow when he was hiking was vicious to him and his partner but later, he described that “But everything was stunning.” In the beginning of the passage Byron briefly spoke about his spiritual connection to the forest “But most of the time you don’t think. No point. Instead you exist in a mobile zen mode, your brain like a balloon tethered with string, accompanying but not actually part of the body below.

Stegner believed that there is a spiritual connection between the wilderness and humans. He says that “Something will have gone out of as a people iif we ever let the remaining wilderness be destroyed; if we permit the last virgin forests to be turned into comic bookand plastic cigarette cases…And so that never again canwe have a chace to see our selves single, separate, vertical and individual in the world.” Another point he made was that progrees was not totally good, we now have more luxuries but, the are many spiritual losses that will detroy us.

I agree more with Bryson, I do not have a spiritual connection with the wilderness. I enjoy the forest’s recreational activities such as camping and skiing. Whenever I did those activities I never thought about the animals or have certain feelings about the surroundings. Bryson and Stegner both believe nature is a retreat from the natural world.
