OpenStudy (cenaida):

Which compound inequality best represents this graph? A. x ≤-3 or x ≥ 2 B. x ≤-3 and x ≥ 2 C. -3 ≤ x ≤ 2 D. 2 ≤ x ≤ -3 GRAPH: http://roads.advancedacademics.com/contentserver/content/roadssection/277828/questions/5-hw4/graph_43.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have any clue?

OpenStudy (cenaida):

I think its C but im not sure @some_someone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okaii so: Closed circles are for less than or equal to and greater than or equal to because the point the circle lies on is included.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you eliminate some choices?

OpenStudy (cenaida):

umm D and C ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (cenaida):

hmm could it be A ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well u see, this is where it gets a little tricky. Since one says OR and the other says AND, but besides these differences they are the same. Right? A. x ≤-3 OR x ≥ 2 B. x ≤-3 AND x ≥ 2

OpenStudy (cenaida):

oooh then its probably B isnt it?

Directrix (directrix):

I don't think B is correct because: B. x ≤-3 and x ≥ 2 --> There is NO number greater than or = to 2 AND at the same time less than or equal to -3. You want the union or "the or" of these two inequalities. Look again at the options. @cenaida
