Solve: 8 − x = 17 25 −25 9 −9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get x by itself, to do that you would first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait how

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what im asking you...what is on the same side as the x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, so to cancel out a positive 8 you would?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it would be -8 b/c its all ready positive 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly, so then you would have -x=17-8 so then you have to divide by a negative so x will be positive.
