In attempting to invade Russia, Germany lost extreme numbers of soldiers and war machines. The Blitzkrieg of Britain had faltered nearly to a halt. With a newfound opportunity to regroup and attack, the British put more force on the German lines. The United States dumping fresh troops and weapons on already stressed German lines, breaking them. Perhaps if Germany had waited to invade Russia until they had finished obliterating the British, things would have gone differently.
