Need Help! Biology Imagine you are the nucleus of a plant or animal cell and have been asked to mentor an organelle that is new to the cell. Take your mentee on a tour of the cell, describing the major parts of the cell and their functions. You may present your tour in a variety of ways; just be sure it demonstrates a complete understanding of the organelles, their functions, and how they work together to support the cell.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welll do you need to unclude how the cell forms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeap it would be useful my friend.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the membrane of the cell is the outer layer i think, the cytoplasm is the liquid inside the cell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean im not looking for an essay written just help a couple sentences that would be good this biology is frustrating when you don't have an ACTUAL teacher in front of you teaching it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

xD yea ok lemme think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well you have mieos and mitotes (i cant spell sry)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lovatic4life

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok i get u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you like me to list the steps of meiosis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but look dont frustrate yourself its ok , and if you got a couple of sentences write it for me ill re-write it myself , but not im segments lol cause then i wont know how to rearrange it. well the grading rubric asks for : ncludes descriptions of all of the expected parts of the cell., Includes accurate and complete descriptions of the organelle structures.,Shows an advanced understanding of the reactions and interactions. The methods used to support thinking and show comprehension are advanced. The description goes well beyond the grasp of key ideas typically found at this level., and finally The finished product is extremely clear and organized. .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but thats the grading rubric im looking for something that is narrow simpple and covers everthing just a paragraph basically 5 sentences or so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o.o...well uhm hold on :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are a lot of structures, do you need ever single one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chromosomes Usually in the form of chromatin Contains genetic information Composed of DNA Nuclear membrane Surrounds nucleus Chloroplasts A plastid usually found in plant cells Contain green chlorophyll where photosynthesis takes place Cytoskeleton Supports cell and provides shape Aids movement of materials in and out of cells Endoplasmic reticulum Tubular network fused to nuclear membrane Stores, separates, and serves as cell's transport system Golgi apparatus Protein 'packaging plant' A membrane structure found near nucleus Lysosome Digestive 'plant' for proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates Transports undigested material to cell membrane for removal Mitochondria Energy-producing chemical reactions take place on cristae. Controls level of water and other materials in cell Recycles and decomposes proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and forms urea Ribosomes Each cell contains thousands Miniature 'protein factories' Vacuoles: Membrane-bound sacs for storage, digestion, and waste removal Cell wall: Mostly in plant cells
